Creekside Smokehouse was started by Patrick McNair in 1993. A well loved guy that sadly passed away in 2002, but his recipes for smoked fish live on. Pat's customers and family still come in and usually have a great story to tell. Pat was a helluva guy we hear!
Current owner Dave Barber, a local on the Coast since the day he was born and a sheet rocker by trade, took over smoking in 2004 from second owner Terry Weisbrich. Terry was retiring and Dave was ready to do something new. In a month's time Dave learned the trade and became a master at smoking fish.
Dave has grown the business, smoking more fish than ever before and has also added a few more items such as Smoked Pepperjack, Smoked Provolone and the infamous Smoked Butter as seen in Food & Wine Magazine and twice featured on the Food Network's series Chopped!
Dave is a hard working, dedicated small business owner who loves animals, birds, a cold Budweiser and the 49ers. His favorite things to eat from the smokehouse are the Smoked Sturgeon, Smoked Salmon Salad and the Rich Jerky.
We are located on the East Side of Hwy 1 from Pillar Point Harbor on Avenue Alhambra. Here's a map, but if you get lost, just give us a call and we will tell you how to get here.
